The ninth edition of the annual Blender’s Pride Fashion Tour opened in Chandigarh at Hotel Mount View on September 28th & 29th, and is set to travel to Bengaluru, followed by Hyderabad, Kolkata, Gurgaon and Mumbai this year, which goes on till 24th November, is the longest so far of all the editions.

A pre-launch party was held in Mumbai-based concept store, Le Mill to kick off the tour. Called “House of Style,” the preview showcased 10 Indian designers showing one outfit each from a new collection and inspired by a muse. Several Bollywood celebrities wore the clothes of the featured designers, including Malaika Arora Khan in Vikram Phadnis, Neha Dhupia in Pankaj and Nidhi, Sameera Reddy in Falguni and Shane Peacock, and Evelyn Sharma in Wendell Rodricks. The special media preview showed the designers’ own unique takes, from JJ Valaya’s royalty-inspired line to the demure, understated florals of Falguni and Shane Peacock.

In Chandigarh, the opening leg of the tour showed Falguni and Shane Peacock’s New York Fashion Week collection, a futuristic line of straight cuts and metallic embellishments. Rodricks showed his new line, “Red, Haute, and Blue,” which he described in an interview as “radiating youthfulness and using pop colors such as neon green, peacock blue, and hot pink.” Vikram Phadnis went a more somber way for his line, using a black, gold, and beige color palette with simple cuts.
